The conference will conclude LIFE+ Project Greater Spotted Eagle – a bird like no other! but also determine further actions in the conservation of Greater Spotted Eagles.
All that we have learnt about the species while conducting research within the project is now a valuable basis on which to decide what is needed to save Greater Spotted Eagles both in the Biebrza Valley and globally.
Results of satellite tracking show clearly that birds have to face numerous and serious threats on their migration routes, such as shooting and leaving poisoned carcasses (Greece and other countries of the Mediterranean and Balkan region). Therefore, our conference will focus on establishing international cooperation in order to secure the routes and create a cross-border alliance for Greater Spotted Eagle and other migrating birds of prey.
